The chain of events that happened in the last month are as follows: Dec 12,2009,
Charlotte woke up from the couch thinking her arm was asleep. She tried to shake it
Off. She broke out in a cold sweat. She recognized that as a sign of a heart attack
And drove herself to the Turlock Hospital. There, they verified Charlotte’s fears
and stopped the heart attack. From there, she was transferred to Doctor’s Hospital,
Modesto where they prepared to perform angioplasty on Monday 12/14. it was then that
the doctors determined Charlotte needed a bypass so they prepared her for the operation
on Thursday 12/17. She failed to wake up after the normal recovery period. After
examinations and tests, they determined that she had experienced one or more strokes
after the operation. She was beginning to respond to questions. On Monday the 21st,
I prayed with her and she began to pat my hand. She understood and was responding. I knew then that she had made her peace with God
On Tues, she was better and more responsive. They removed the breathing tube and she
was trying to talk. On Wed. 12/23, she had a great day she was talking to the nurses and
Elaine. They began making arrangements for progress .Then on Thursday, 12/24,
something happened, Elaine, seated in the waiting room, heard a call, “code blue 275.”
Elaine called, room 275 was Charlotte’s room. She knew it was not good.
Her blood pressure dropped very low. The doctors put the breathing tube back in and
hooked up the pacemaker. Her kidneys and liver had all but shut down.
she was not responding. We spent the night there with her. On Friday 12/25 it was
apparent that she was very low. They tried to clean her blood on the dialysis machine, but
it kept clogging up. On Sat, 12/26/09 the doctors removed the breathing tube. She was
gone. She fought the good fight, and, God called her home! Now Charlotte is in Heaven.
