GILTON FAMILY REUNION 2009
Every one of us here today is a part of or a friend of the Gilton Family. You belong. You are a member. You may be a part of the Gilton family through the Owens family, the Wilcoxson family, the Potter family, or the Adams family. None the less, you are a part of our family. Every one wants to, and needs to belong. Today, there are many other names that are part of our family. Every one is fully, wholly, proudly, and eagerly accepted. We did not choose the family that we were born into, and there are many, many family names that we could have had, more than we could count. That was not our choice to make. We do, however, have a choice as to whose family we belong to in eternity. Matt. 13, 14”You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way. But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.” You can choose to be or not to be in God’s family and be a child of God. God wants you to be a member of His family. God’s family ties last throughout eternity. Do you want to be in God’s family eternally? If you do, you must make a choice. If you have not already done so, you could make that choice today.
Being a member of God’s family makes you a member of God’s Church. Eph 1:23 says, “And the Church is His body; it is filled by Christ, who fills everything everywhere with His Presence.” As the eye is a window into our being, our conscience is the spiritual window to our soul. Our conscienceousness lasts forever-----throughout eternity. Read the story of the rich man and Lazarus.luke 16: 19-31. Lazarus went to heaven, the rich man went to the place of torment and he remembered his former situation. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.” If we have wronged God or anyone else, now is the time to get it forgiven, rather than take it into eternity. Do you have everything up to date between you and God? If not, today is the best time to get it straightened out. Remember, the same conscienceousness you have will be with you in eternity. The way to open that spiritual window and develop a relationship with God begins with being born again as Jesus described in John chapter 3. If you want to be born again today, just repeat this simple prayer. “Dear God, I want to open my spiritual window and develop a relationship with you. Please forgive me for every wrong thing I have ever done against you or anyone else. I choose to be a member of your family. I want to know You. Help me to grow every day. Thank you for receiving me today. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen”. If you prayed that simple prayer today, you are born again. Your name has been written in the Lambs Book of Life. And, the God of the universe now is your eternal spiritual Father.
Obedience is what God asks of us. All of His creation is made without a choice to obey except for man. The whole universe, gravity, mathematics, science, the speed of light must be constant, but, we have been given the right to make a choice. There are tremendous rewards connected to the choice we make either good or bad. God has promised to bless those who choose to be His children.
To date, God has given us nine messages that have the words and power to lead us into eternity with Him. There may not be another. One of us may have gone to be with the Lord before we meet again. My prayer is that all of us will be ready when He calls us home.

IT HAD BEEN SCHEDULED FOR THE WEEK EARLIER, BUT AT THE LAST MINUTE, IT WAS CHANGED TO THE 31ST. DURING THE WEEK, I CALLED TED. HE HAD TO RE-ARANGE HIS SCHEDULE IN ORDER TO MAKE IT. I AM THANKFUL HE WAS ABLE TO BE THERE FOR ME AND THE FAMILY. BRAD
